Are workers who cannot maintain the 1.5 metres, wearing appropriate masks and gloves?

Are workers applying the 1 person per 4 square metre rule for work indoors?

Are specific areas allocated to each work group to eat at every day, have alternate breaks or breaks outside if possible?

Has furniture been spread out, limiting time spent in common areas and mark safe distances in work, transit and break areas (eg on floors and walls)?

Have start times been staggered, breaks and finish times to avoid congestion in high traffic areas?

For travelling in vehicles, has the site ensured that there is only the driver and 1 passenger (suitably distanced) for a single cab vehicle.

For dual cab vehicles only the driver, 1 passenger in the front and 1 passenger in the back (suitably distanced).

Where practical, reasonable action should be taken to minimize vulnerable workers (older workers and those with compromised immune systems) from conducting higher risk roles.

Is management minimising movement between areas within large sites, is movement being minimised as much as possible?

Are control measures implemented to reduce the infection risk in personnel hoists, including systems of work, physical distancing, personal hygiene, PPE and cleaning?

Is worker movement between levels and floors on site being reduced, where it is possible and safe to do so?

Have areas been marked out on hoist floors and waiting areas and a schedule implemented for the use of the hoist?

Where practicable, is the hoist operator being rotated every two hours, provided appropriate PPE and hand sanitiser?

Has the number of workers who can use the hoist at any given time been determined?

Are the screening processes implemented? Phase 1: to screen workers and visitors before they enter the site to obtain their declaration they have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 or been in close contact with anyone with COVID-19. Phase 2: implement ongoing daily screening of workers prior to starting their shift to continually monitor their potential exposure?

Is the 14-day quarantine rule is applied for anyone who returns from overseas travel?

Is there a system in place to ensure anyone with flu like symptoms does not attend work until cleared by a medical practitioner?

Is the 14-day self-quarantine rule for anyone who has had close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 being implemented?

Are workers washing hands regularly for 20 seconds?

Is adequate quantities of hand sanitiser available, where washing of hands is not possible?

Is personal etiquette of sneezing or coughing into arm or tissues observed? Is there evidence of communication strategies being implemented to raise awareness?

Are there adequate numbers of bins available and are they being used for disposal of used tissues and cigarettes?

Is the personal hygiene practice of not touching eyes, nose and mouth observed? Is there a communication strategy to raise awareness?

Is adequate PPE provided, such as gloves and face masks?

Is there a system in place to record the schedule and the work locations to enable tracing of those who have come into contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?

Does the site avoid the use of shared tools where possible and provide adequate cleaning products to wipe down tools, plant and equipment before and after use?

Are hand washing facilities with soap and/or hand sanitiser in all site entrances and exits, hoists, amenities and all levels of the site?

Is there a process to ensure cleaning and disinfecting of common areas, hoists and amenities and meal areas between work group breaks and shifts?

Has the frequency of industrial grade cleaning/disinfecting on sites, particularly in common areas increased?

Has the site implemented twice daily cleaning to ‘frequently touched surfaces’ such as door handles, fridges, taps, microwave handles?

Have adequate numbers of rubbish bins for tissues and discarded PPE equipment been provided and those bins being regularly removed off-site?

Is there a system in place to ensure regular cleaning of vehicles that are shared to ensure adequate hygiene and infection control?

Does the site use toolbox meetings to reinforce the severity of the pandemic, the importance of the on-site controls and self-reporting, to minimise the risk of infection?

Has the site prominently displayed health and physical distancing information in locations on site and in common areas?

Are signs regarding the requirement for screening clearly visible to workers before entering sites?

Has an effective employer and union communication and consultation structure been established?

Do site inductions to include potential infection risks and controls, such as recent travel or health issues, and to educate new starters on-site controls and practices?

Is there a system in place to ensure that where a worker experiences any flu like symptoms, they must leave work immediately, and the COVID-19 hotline on 1800 675 398 is called, medical assistance is being obtained and the worker does not attend work until medically cleared to return?

Is there a system in place to ensure that where a worker becomes a confirmed case of COVID-19 they must not attend work until medically cleared?

The employer will be notified by DHHS where a worker becomes a confirmed case and has been deemed to be infectious while on-site.

Does site management have a pandemic management plan and or a business continuity plan? Does the employer have plans to manage DHHS required actions, such as partial or complete closure of the site for cleaning and disinfection and any contact tracing activities?

The employer must immediately implement an appropriate cleaning and disinfection regime and make a record of the cleaning undertaken available to workers and their representatives.

Unions and other workers may need to be notified ensuring appropriate privacy considerations are complied with.

Is there a process to ensure that anyone who had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 must also self-quarantine at home for 14 days?
